Biography

For over thirty years, J. E. Hill saw the stories most people only read about in headlines. Beginning as a crime beat photographer for The Boston Herald, Hill spent two decades behind the lens documenting major homicide investigations across Boston and throughout Massachusetts. Hill later transitioned into digital newsroom leadership, finishing a long news career as the Online Editor for The Lowell Sun.

Having observed hundreds of murder cases from every angle of the crime scene tape, Hill now brings that unmatched eye for authentic detail, investigative friction, and gritty atmosphere into fiction. Written with the razor-sharp realism of true crime reporting, Hill’s police procedurals take readers straight into the heart of New England law enforcement. Hill lives and writes in the Greater Boston area.
